The Brief

Create an entertainment system and a companion app that makes the Ford driverless car an intuitive, unique experience.

Ford is the leading pack in the domestic market with a patent on their entertainment system for driverless cars. They plan to have an in-car screen and a companion mobile app that will allow passengers a unique “hands-off” driving experience.


THE PROBLEM
How do we design an interface that engages the passenger? How do we integrate other technologies that they use to make their experience personalised and seamless? How do we reimagine a driving entertainment experience when your eyes or hands no longer need to be on the road?
 
THE SOLUTION

We developed an in-car entertainment screen that integrates with the passenger’s current technologies and uses AI to assist in daily tasks, as well as a companion app that allows the user to control the car remotely.

My Role: Lead in App Design & Project Manager, User Research, Persona creation, Task Analysis, User Journey Map, Comparative & Competitive Analysis, Site-mapping, Card Sorting, User Flow, Wireframing, Medium Fidelity Prototype, High Fidelity Prototype

Tools: Sketch, Excel, Google Slides, Photoshop

Platform: Interactive Screen & Mobile Companion App

Timeline: 1 Week of research, 2 Weeks of design ideation and prototyping at General Assembly
